Pay attention to your health

Here are 7 unusual changes in your body that reveal your health condition:

1. Black Stripes on Nails
Your nails can tell a lot about your health. If you notice any changes in the structure or color of your nails, you should check your health. Dark lines are one of the signs of malignant tumors. If you don't remember injuring your nails or don't know what caused the dark lines, you should definitely get checked by a specialist.

2. Shell-like Ridges on Your Tongue
Shell-like tongue is when the edges of the tongue appear to resemble a shell. Unless you've had jaw trauma, this condition usually occurs due to swelling in the tongue area. Swelling can result from changes in your body, such as dehydration. However, if this shell-like tongue is accompanied by other symptoms like pain, cramps, hair loss, low blood pressure, and bruising, it may indicate thyroid disorders.

3. Pimples on Jaw and Chin
Beneath our skin, there are many small glands that produce natural oil, which moves through the pores. For several reasons, these glands can produce too much oil, leading to clogged pores and pimples. For women, pimples along the jawline can be a sign of hormonal imbalance. When too much testosterone, a male hormone, is produced, it stimulates these oil glands.

4. Unhealing Pimples
Normally, pimples are caused by clogged pores. However, if the pimple doesn’t disappear after weeks and easily bleeds, you should check if it could be a sign of basal cell carcinoma. Although it may sound frightening, this type of skin cancer carries low risks, does not spread, and can be treated relatively quickly if diagnosed early.

5. Unusual Hair Growth in Women
If hair suddenly starts growing in areas typically found in men, such as on the upper lip, around the chin, or below the navel, it could be a symptom of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), where the ovaries become enlarged due to hormonal imbalance. Additionally, excessive hair growth can also be due to genetics. Check if your relatives have similar signs.

6. Frequent Finger Pain
Thickened, sensitive fingers can be a sign of lung cancer. As a lung tumor grows, it releases chemicals into the bloodstream that stimulate the growth of tissue beneath the nails and fingertips, causing pain. If you experience thickening and swelling on your fingers, make sure to get checked early to ensure your health.

7. Yellowing of Skin and Sclera
Yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes is a common symptom of liver problems. The eyes often turn yellow due to a chemical called bilirubin accumulating in the blood. You should definitely see a doctor as soon as you notice these signs, as early diagnosis can prevent serious health complications.
